Action Card Date Sync

Hive users frequently encounter inefficiencies when managing project timelines, specifically regarding the syncronization of start and end dates across multiple areas within a project. Currently, when a Hive user updates an action card with a date, it does not automatically update the overall project's start or end date. This results in a repeated manual update process which is prone to errors and miscommunications. Automated synchronization would significantly streamline project management tasks, reducing the need for redundant data entry and improving accuracy in project timelines.

  • Flexible Settings:
    Provide customizable settings within the extension that allow users to define under what conditions the dates from action cards should update the project dates. This flexibility will accommodate diverse workflow preferences among Hive teams.
  • Notification System:
    Include a notification feature in the extension that alerts users whenever a date set on an action card affects the project’s overall timeline. This ensures that all team members are aware of timeline adjustments in real time.
  • Automatic Date Synchronization:
    Develop an extension that integrates with Hive, ensuring that when a date is set in an action card, it has the option to automatically set or update the project’s start or end date correspondingly. This should ideally include an enable/disable toggle feature for users who may not require this synchronization for all projects.
