Calendar Resourcing Sync

Hive users face significant challenges in managing their team's schedules and workloads efficiently. Currently, there is no direct integration for external calendars, such as Google Calendar or Outlook, into Hive's Resourcing view. This absence means that meetings and out-of-office (OOO) times aren't automatically reflected alongside regular tasks and assignments. Consequently, this leads to an inaccurate representation of each team member’s available working hours, making it difficult to plan and optimize work distribution effectively. Hive users have expressed a desire to overlay external calendar events directly onto their resource tracker to visualize the entire workday or week comprehensively.

🗒️ Feature Requests

  • Visualization of Events:
    These imported calendar events should be visually distinct yet integrated within the existing Resourcing view layout, helping users differentiate external appointments from Hive tasks.
  • Automatic Calendar Import:
    The extension must be able to automatically import events from a user's connected external calendars (e.g., Google Calendar, Outlook) into Hive's Resourcing view.
  • Customizable Sync Options:
    Users should be able to customize synchronization settings, such as frequency of updates and which calendar events to import, ensuring flexibility according to their workflow.
  • OOO and Meeting Indicators:
    Provide clear indicators for OOO statuses and meetings on the Resourcing calendar to highlight times when team members are not available for additional tasks.
