Email Integration with Custom Field Support

ClickUp users are eagerly requesting a more robust integration functionality within ClickUp's email sending capabilities, particularly the use of custom fields. The need is clear: users want to customize email templates using placeholders that can pull in data from custom fields within tasks, making communications more personalized and contextually relevant. This feature would streamline workflows by allowing users to send enriched, data-driven emails directly from ClickUp, reducing manual data entry and improving accuracy.

  • Dynamic Recipient Handling:
    Implement functionality to utilize email addresses stored in custom fields as recipients in the 'To', 'CC', and 'BCC' fields of the email setup.
  • Enhanced Email Personalization:
    Enable email templates to use task data such as Task Name, Description, and all Custom Fields to be used as placeholders within the email body and subject lines.
  • Visual Placeholder Mapping in UI:
    Provide a user-friendly interface for mapping placeholders to corresponding custom fields in the email template designer within ClickUp.
  • Template Customization with Custom Fields:
    Allow users to create email templates that can include placeholders for custom fields. This will enable automatic insertion of task-specific data when emails are drafted.
