Many ClickUp users have expressed the need for an enhanced day planning tool, one that goes beyond the basic calendar functionalities and offers comprehensive time blocking capabilities. ClickUp users have highlighted the current limitations in planning their days effectively, particularly with the integration of tasks that are not bound by specific start and end times. A more robust, customizable day planner would allow users to structure their days more efficiently, integrate non-task elements (like breaks or ad-hoc meetings), and better manage daily workflows without the task management constraints currently experienced.

  • Drag-and-Drop Interface:
    Users should be able to reorder tasks within a day planner easily. This interface will allow dragging tasks into different time blocks, accommodating priority changes through a simple drag-and-drop motion.
  • Flexible Task Scheduling:
    Allow users to plan tasks for specific blocks without linking these blocks to task start and due dates. This will help users separate long-term deadlines from daily planning needs.
  • Visibility of Task Details:
    Enhance the visibility of crucial task details directly in the day planner view to alleviate the need to switch views for information, improving workflow and efficiency.
  • Day and Week Planning Views:
    Include both daily and weekly planner views, enabling users to plan at different granularities according to their work style or requirements.
  • Integrate with Multiple Views:
    The day planner should seamlessly integrate with other existing Clickup views, allowing users to switch between day planning and other forms of task management without losing context or content.
  • Custom Blocks for Non-Task Items:
    Provide the ability to add blocks for non-task activities, like lunch breaks or ad hoc meetings, which are essential for realistic day planning but currently not supported.
