Enhanced Formula Capabilities for Text and Custom Fields

ClickUp users often encounter limitations when attempting to perform advanced data manipulations directly within the platform. Many have expressed the need to utilize non-numeric and non-date fields within formulas, which is currently not supported. This extension aims to address a common frustration among ClickUp users who need to integrate text and other custom fields into their formula calculations. By enabling the use of text strings, checkboxes, dropdowns, and other types of data in formulas, users could automate more complex operations and simplify workflows, without relying on external tools.

  • Advanced Conditional Logic:
    Expand formula capabilities to include advanced conditions with multiple data types, enabling users to construct detailed logical operations that reflect diverse and real-world scenarios.
  • Implement Text Manipulation Functions:
    Functions like CONCATENATE, LEN, FIND, MID, and more should be usable with text fields, enabling users to manipulate string data effectively for dynamic task names, summaries, and more.
  • Support Wider Field Types in Formulas:
    The extension should allow a variety of field types (text, checkbox, dropdown, etc.) to be used within formula fields. This would facilitate complex operations such as concatenations, conditional logic, and custom calculations directly within ClickUp.
  • Seamless Integration with Current ClickUp Setup:
    Ensure that any new formula functionalities integrate smoothly with existing ClickUp fields and automations, maintaining the platform's efficiency while enhancing its capability.
