Task Snooze Functionality

ClickUp users often encounter situations where certain tasks are not immediately actionable, either due to waiting on dependencies, the nature of the project timeline, or simply because they prioritized other more urgent tasks. In such cases, these tasks can clutter the task list and cause unnecessary cognitive overload. Users are expressing a strong desire for an option to temporarily hide such tasks from their primary view, without affecting the task's status or history. This functionality would greatly enhance user efficiency by reducing visual clutter and allowing them to focus on tasks that are immediately actionable.

🗒️ Feature Requests

  • Snooze Status Alerts:
    Upon the end of a snooze period, provide notifications or alerts to remind users of the task’s return to the active list. This will ensure that no snoozed task gets overlooked upon return.
  • Temporary Task Hiding:
    Allow tasks to be hidden from the main task list temporarily, without altering the task's status or lifecycle. Ideal for users who wish to focus on the current actionable items.
  • Flexible Snooze Options:
    Implement snooze options such as specifying the snooze duration in days, hours, or until a specific date. This flexibility would cater to personal workflow preferences.
  • Integration with Recurrence:
    Snoozed tasks that are part of a recurring task set should automatically reschedule based on the snooze settings without manual intervention, thereby maintaining a clean workflow.
  • Visibility and Notification Control:
    While a task is snoozed, ensure it is hidden from default task views but can still be accessed easily if needed. Notifications for the snoozed task should be manageable, allowing users to choose if they want to pause notifications or still receive them for significant updates.
